What Can You Do
The Council for Zimbabwe has established taskforces in health, education and economic development to continue the dialogue initiated at the conference, build relations and mobilize resources needed to respond to the immediate and long-term needs in Zimbabwe . Efforts are underway to create a Diaspora Fund to provide micro-loans to small businesses in order to create employment opportunities needed to boost the economy. Concerned citizens can take a bold stand to help individuals and organizations in Zimbabwe through the following practical actions:
- Sponsor an orphan, a student, or an institution in Zimbabwe
- Sponsor a doctor at one of the rural hospitals we work with.
- Sponsor a well to provide clean water to a community in Zimbabwe.
- Help buy groceries or build a house for teachers in the villages.
- Help buy medical supplies, books, uniforms and sporting equipment for schools.
- Collect money, books, and medical supplies to send to Zimbabwe.
- Mobilize your friends, church, school group to raise funds to help a school or church in Zimbabwe.
- Volunteer your professional skills to mentor an individual, a business, or a public institution in Zimbabwe.
- Contact the Council of Zimbabwe to donate your time to the Zimbabwe cause.
Because we ant your assistance to reach the people on the ground and make a significant difference, the Council is working with organizations to develop effective and transparent mechanisms to help Zimbabwe . The Council of Zimbabwe works with partner agencies through taskforces in the following areas of development impact:
